As Sheikh Khalid Yasin pointed out in response to a question regarding the difference in attitude between UK and US, and I'm paraphrasing here as i can't find the clip again: "The difference between racism in US and UK is that in the US its very blunt and in your face. In the UK they make it look like they're working with you to solve the problem". He did go on to say that such experience would come from having colonised the world and having manage people.
Now imagine that "problem solving" with this woman's expression, style of talking and addressing you...... for years..... It will chip away your self esteem, self worth and confidence. Taking issue with the person as you should will only end with you being labelled the "problem". You can't even call it out. If you do then "well, im sorry you feel that way. I was only trying to help!" No, you weren't!
WHY do we seek their validation to dealing with matters regarding our own??? Which lesson will be good enough to give us a wake up call?
